When we are at the Aruba Ocean Club for two weeks we get tidy service midway during the first week, a full cleaning at the beginning of the second week and a tidy service midway into the second week. I pay for towel and trash service all of the other days.

The times we have stayed 2 weeks, we have received a free full clean on the seventh day.

No tidy service.

Same at MOC -- how are things in St. Kitts? Do they have an asst. GM?

At Shadow Ridge, if you stay for 2 weeks, you get a complementary full clean on day 7. No other cleanings unless you pay for them. I'm not sure how it works if you stay for less than 2 weeks (10 days, for example, assuming you are using DC points for your stay).

From the other posts, it looks like it depends on where you are staying.

Cheers!

It Depends on the location

It really depends on the resort.

For example - Phuket Beach Club (where we are at present)

Before arrival. Full clean and service and maintenance check - takes about 3 to 4 hours depending what state the previous guests leave the place in. We always empty the fridge and freezer and ensure all towels are in the main batH tub etc.

Daily. Tidy and sanitize. Beds made and towels replaced if required. Since no dishwasher - all dirty dishes and cutlery etc. washed, dried and put away. Refuse removed from all bins in kitchen, living aware and bathrooms. Toilets sanitized and bathrooms cleaned and villa generally tidied. Anything requiring maintenance that they spot is reported and maintenance are there in minutes to sort it out. Fresh coffee sachets for the filter are also supplied daily.

Mid week. Same as daily, plus floors washed and rugs vacuumed. Bed linen replaced.

Start of second week. Same as mid week but even more cleaning is done.

All this is included in the MFs however we always leave money for the housekeeping ladies each week. How much? About 1000 Bhat which is approx $30 US. May not seem much but that is much more than a days wages here in Thailand.

In our Spanish Marriotts it is basically the same except that there is a dishwasher in the units and so the staff will place any dishes required into the washer and start it running if required. Dishwasher tablets are supplied for the first couple of days. No coffee is supplied. Here we usually leave the housekeeping ladies a tip of about 30 euros per week.

We get spoiled with our service in Phuket. Aruba has been covered.

Manor Club (Williamsburg) we received no cleaning unless we paid for it. We were told this was determined by the owners to keep maint. fees down.

Most property's standards seem to be mid-week tidy service at most places. They will also replace towels as needed.

Actually I think that all of the Marriott resorts in the lower 48 don't offer any midweek tidy. The resorts in Hawaii and the international properties have some type of cleaning service, either mid week or daily.

We have twice stayed at Manor Club for two consecutive weeks in the same villa. They did a full clean each time after 7 days just as if new people had been coming in. Manor Club had no mid-week tidy service.

At Waiohai, Kauai, HI they have a mid-week tidy (towel and bath sundries replacement, make beds (same linens), dishes in dishwasher and started, sometimes some light cleaning) and they do a full clean on the 7th day as if you are a new guest.

Agree ...the service in Marbella Beach is just as the O/P has written .

OK we were told we would get a full service clean today (day 7) so I will wait and see. No there is no ZGM or asst. GM here. There is a operations manager that I met at the owners breakfast.
There are several issues that I feel need addressing. Can't decide if I should request a face to face with her or try to get the BOD members E Mail and address with them.

At Ocean Pointe, full clean which includes change of linens, towels at the end of first week/beginning of second week. No complimentary service during the week but you can request & pay for cleaning.

I think they also offer a towel exchange at Ocean Pointe. So if you need clean towels for the unit a quick call and they will bring them up and take the old. This is especially useful if you are staying in a studio unit.
