I just finished decorating our little tree using Czech glass ornaments, some as old as me. Can you share yours?

Jack hasn’t knocked over the tree yet (fingers crossed) but I noticed earlier today he has a little pile of ornaments he has pulled off the tree. His treasure trove is behind the tree in the corner where I can’t reach so they’ll have to stay there until the holidays are over.

Young Jack isn’t the only pain in my ass. Mocha, the twelve year who flew off the second floor balcony just before Thanksgiving, liberated the Baby Jesus from the manger. Luckily there was no ill effect on the rest of the Holy Family, although I did have to pick a sheep off the floor.

Slip, loved those ornaments, they remained me of the Land of Paradise with those cold temperatures in the sixties.

Wow ! You have antique glass ornaments from Czech on every branch. Your Tree is gorgeous Loved that glass shining star on top of your tree.

I have 9 trees. 3 are 9 feet tall and 2 are 7 feet tall, plus I have 4tabletop ones and a decorated wreath. I will do these in batches.
All but 10 of my ornaments are Hallmark. The 10 were gifts. I worked at Hallmark for 29 years and was able to purchase them at 1/2 price. I still do as a retiree.

Thesesare the miniature ornament tree and the 9 foot tree in my office. They have the older ornaments.

Here are the ones in the Living Room. The 7 foot one has lots of Snoopy & Pooh ornaments, plus Tonka and Disney ornaments I call it the Kids tree. There are some light and mothion ones on a table.

These are in the Family Room. THe big one has all the current series. One has Light and motion ornaments and then there is one with just cars and trucks.

@pittle Did you save all your boxes? When I had lots of Hallmark ornaments Cliff was tasked with matching ornament to box when taking down decorations. I had a friend who came for tree trimming once and only once. Whoa there, my friend! Any molded plastic or stuffing that came out of a box goes right back into the SAME box as you remove ornaments! She was astonished she just couldn’t throw wrapping materials willynilly! Not in my house!

I did for a long time. but it took longer to put them away than it did to put them up and took tons of space.

So, I now wrap them all in tissue paper and each series goes into a Ziploc bag which I keep some air in and then layer the ones for each tree into plastic tubs. That way I can stack them in the walk-in closet off of my office. It is 4 feet wide by 17 feet long and 10 feet tall. ;0 I can stack the tubs 3 or 4 high depending on their depth and then the small trees get trash bags put over them and are put on the shelf in the closet. The 5 larger trees are packed in their boxes and lined up along the wall, then there are 3 safety ladders (with sturdy handles) of various heights for me to use when assembling and dismantling. The only tree that gets new ornaments is the one in the family room that has all the current series on it, so the others are easy to set up and go.

In my family, baby Jesus was not allowed in the nativity until 12/25. Maybe Mocha has strong feelings about that.

And the wisemen w/ their camels started out somewhere else in the house and gradually moved closer and closer to the nativity scene as the Christmas season progressed.

We have been using the same tree with the same ornaments for as long as I can remember. Many of the ornaments were picked up on trips or made by young family members. Christmas Town on top of the new fireplace kind of fits. So far, we have received six Christmas cards that are pictures of families.

We haven’t put up a Christmas tree in years, nor do we decorate the inside of the house anymore. Got rid of everything.

We have no grandchildren and our unmarried son is 36 going on 37 years old in Feb. Don’t see the point.

We strung up a few lights outside and put this small lighted tree by our front door. When lit the lantern on top displays a moving flame. Didn’t want the neighbors thinking we are total scrooges. Lol!

I did help decorate the tree in our community clubhouse.

PS I don't know how to make my cell phone photos bigger on TUG.

Oh sure. I get that.

For me, I’m good. I see ours (out the window) and everyone else’s Xmas lights in my neighborhood and our clubhouse is decorated beautifully by us residents. We already had our Xmas party there. I had a XMAS cocktail party at my neighbors house on Sat and we have another XMAS/ Hanukkah party next Sunday.

It’s enough. We’re going out for Chinese food Christmas Eve and our son will come over Xmas day for dinner.

I do it for me. It makes me happy to see the decorations up and the lights on the tree.

So far only the cleaning lady has seen my tree. Going to have quick horsedovers on Saturday with my dinner group just so a few others can admire it. But I have to say I’ve only met one other person who steps up to a tree and carefully looks over the decorations the way I do. In fact last year when they had a holiday open house here at several of the villas, condos and apartments, they had to they had to ask me twice to step back from one tree. I can’t “read” the tree from five feet away! (It was docents, not homeowners chastising me).

This will be the last year for out 9’ one. For the last few years our daughter and SIL to put it up. Then my wife and daughter help ea other decorate both. Next year we will have two 7’ ones. Wife and I can still handle that size and she has so many decorations one year we used 3 trees.

Love Christmas Town and your dog! I am very partial to cockers! I have had 4 and my current one is also a "parti" with brown ears and lots of brown around the eyes. Kyle will be 9 years old the first week of February. He is kind of pissed at me right now - I was gone for 3 weeks to Puerto Vallarta and then took him to the groomer yesterday! I'm such an abusive parent.

Bit of a Charlie Brown tree for us this year, but we couldn’t resist the bargain section at the local tree farm. Finally got it decorated tonight. Merry Christmas all!
