I'm thinking of visiting New Orleans sometime in December. Has anyone stayed during this time who could give me an idea of what kinds of festivities go on? Is there something special I should not miss? How is the weather? Any info or insights would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Xmas

I was there with my family the week prior to Xmas. Actually left on Xmas eve for flight home. We were there for 2 nights, driving there after our son's college graduation in Texas. There wasn't much really happening but the hotel deals were terrific. We stayed at the Sonesta right on Bourbon for like $69.00 for 5 of us and it was a great hotel. But that was 1999. You should be able to get some really great hotel deals because this is low season, not many people go there at that time; they are getting ready for Xmas.
