the night of lights is an awesome annual event here for sure..we certainly enjoy the walk around that time of year!

favorite places for me in st aug are the san sebastian winery, scarlett oharas (bar)....and the new salt life restaurant over on the beach! Despite being a chain, its quite a good place to eat and if you can get a table on the top deck the view is outstanding!

Conch house offers a lovely outdoor setting to grab lunch (just not on a sunday).

you can drive right on to vilano beach and enjoy your day there.

lastly, this is a post from a fishing buddy of mine whos a st aug local (vs us jax townies!)

The Black Fly is just on the east side of the of the bridge of lions, it's good...more of a Bahamian type menu right now, and you're looking at 15+ bucks a plate. The Floridian is awesome, it's right by Scarlett's, just a little north of them on Cordova St. Check their website for hours, I remember them being closed on Tuesdays or something. O.C. White's is one of my favorites in the evening. They usually have a local guy covering various kinds of music, great atmosphere outside too! If you're looking to chill on a couch and turn the lights down and get cozy, check out the upstairs at Spy...I think they go by Spy Global Cuisine, or something like that. Then there is Cellar 6, which has AMAZING food, but I think they serve a tapas portion now, they are across the alley from O.C. Whites. They have a metric s-ton of wine and a full abr now too. Really cool, small place...ladies love it! I've eaten at just about every restaurant St. Augustine has, the above are my favorites...The Purple Olive is good too, but I'm not sure if they're still open. If they are, they are down by The Oasis. All the others listed are in the St. George St. area, which means you can take your lady for a walk after dinner....

We are huge fans of St Augustine (been going there for nearly 40 yrs), so much so that's where we chose to buy our 1st timeshare & later a condo.

Are you staying at a timeshare or hotel? The Beach Club at St Augustine Beach is right on the ocean but over in St Augustine Beach not in the 'city'. World Golf Village is nice but IMHO not in St Augustine!

The only times we've ever stayed in a hotel/motel there was for 1 extra night before or after our timeshare week or for 1 or 2 nights on our way through town. There are some nice hotels right in downtown St Augustine. The Hilton Inn bayfront looks to have the best location. There are also numerous bed & breakfasts in the downtown area.

Enjoy your stay!
