Chipotle has nurses check if workers who call in sick are just hungover

"We have nurses on call, so that if you say, 'Hey, I've been sick,' you get the call into the nurse," CEO Brian Niccol said at a Barclays conference on Wednesday. "The nurse validates that it's not a hangover — you're really sick — and then we pay for the day off to get healthy again."

Not a lot of info in the link, but it sounds like they are doing this because they don't want sick employees working with food. In that case, it's a great thing to have in place. When I worked in fast food, no matter how sick the workers were, we'd be in big trouble if we ever called out sick. Totally illegal to have us work when we were sick, but the managers didn't care about that.
