Here's the thread that contains all of the links regarding what happened with Wyndham Grand Chicago:
Great time in Chicago this weekend. I would highly recommend the Wyndham Grand Chicago. No pressure to attend the sales pitch. Stayed in a 1 bedroom suite end unit. Very nice view of river and a city view.

Long story short, HPT owns the building - and decided to exit their entire relationship with Wyndham - which impacted 22 Wyndham branded hotels all told. The only timeshare location that was impacted was the Wyndham Grand Chicago - it converted over to Royal Sonesta effective 11/1/2019. I do believe certain reservations that were already made were honored - however as of last October - net new reservations were no longer possible. Owner Care is aware - the only reason the system still has Wyndham Chicago accessible is because of existing reservations - if they were to remove it from the system - existing reservations would disappear along with it. This topic came up at the annual owner's meeting as well - and while Wyndham tried to re-negotiate the long term lease contract (a 30+ year long term lease with Wyndham was terminated effective 10/31/2019), the building owner demanded a 30 day termination clause - including cancelation of all existing reservations - and would not back down. Given Wyndham has a 10-13 month reservation window - the COO indicated he could not in good faith accept the termination clause as existing owner reservations would be lost - which would have significantly negatively impacted existing Wyndham timeshare owners. Therefore they had to walk away from the location.
