I read on a "travel bargains newsletter" the following recommendation:
Buy two cheap silver weeks from the developer and convert them to Marriott points every year. (OK, this does not make sense, buying 100.000 points per year should be cheaper)
But what made me wonder was that they claimed about half of the "travel value" you get from buying two silver weeks is the "last minute pool" where you can book stays at Marriott Vacation Club resorts and Marriott Hotels last minute for really cheap (like $80 per night in a cat 6 or 7).
The newsletter claimed that this "last minute pool" is only available to Marriott owners that own at least two weeks.
Does anyone know what could be meant by this "last minute pool"?
Is it available only if buying directly from the developer or also for people who own two resale weeks?
Thanks!
