We are hoping to visit Charleston SC for our anniversary this year. We have been spoiled by timeshare vacations. The thought of sharing a hotel room with a teenager who is up all hours isn't appealing. We are considering renting on VRBO but figured it was worth asking here first.

Does anyone know of any timeshare rentals close enough to Charleston? We plan to visit the downtown area as well as several plantation homes.

Thanks

Timeshares in Charleston

There are two timeshares in downtown Charleston. Great locations in the center of everything about two blocks from one another.

I own and love Bluegreen's Lodge Alley Inn. Choose an inside facing courtyard unit.

Festival's The Church Street Inn is the second. I have only walked by. Have never been in.

You will love Charleston!

Also...

For renting a home or condo in Charleston, check out Walk Away Stays. They are local and we use their management service. Just be sure you know the location you are booking. Some of their units are in transitional areas where you may or may not want to be.

There is also a timeshare nearby on the beach called Isle of Palms. I'm not sure there are rentals available but the management phone is 843.886.6387.

You can even catch a bus to downtown Charleston. Parking is expensive. Once downtown there is a bus that loops the city for free. No need to walk far.

Take a look at the Residence Inn Riverview right on the other side of the bridge in the West Ashley area. It is a five minute drive from the hotel to a parking garage on Bay dropping you in the middle of everything. You will get a kitchen and if you can deal with a 1BR with the kid on the sleep sofa, it should meet your needs and you get free breakfast. There is a Springhill Suites on the same footprint, but you don't get the same privacy and no kitchen

Thanks to everyone for the great suggestions. My son (17) is over 6ft and would be uncomfortable on a sofa bed. We are hoping to do some college tours on this trip.
These all seem like great options.
