Changes in Search?

It has been a few months since I logged in to the Hyatt portal. It appears they have changed how search functions. Now it is a choose exact date or search months, limit to four properties, and possibly other things I have not noticed yet. The most confounding thing to me is it appears the availability of units has been drastically cut back. For example, when I search High Sierra for March, there is zero availability. This has historically not been an issue at six months out. There is no availability for Carmel from July to September of next year?!? It feels like Hyatt has either created some kind of restriction in the new search I don’t know how to work around, or they are doing something with units outside of our club use. Might anyone know what is going on?

I can't speak to the availability issue.

But the functionality issue of the website is not new. People have been bitterly complaining about it on various FB and social media groups since Hyatt "improved" the website several months ago..

I remember the initial change being a downgrade… this is worse.

Platinum Collection (Welk) has the same reservation user interface. We're suppose to have 9 months availability for less than 7 nights, but IT hasn't figured out the math. I can't book less than a full week for June 2026 until around Oct 1st. Heritage Collection (HRC) reservations may have a similar issue.

I hope not. If that were true, then there should be some kind of availability in March at High Sierra (there has been in the past).

Is club inventory being used/given priority to portfolio? One can not help but to summarize the complaints as evidence of corporate policy/plot to sell portfolio, and damage club membership.

A good question. I have no idea how we might ever find the answer though.

I’ve had a hard time finding club 2 and 4 stays at the Highlands Inn. I don’t want to pay a housekeeping fee associated with portfolio points. Does anyone know if there’s no HK fees there for short stays like with club points?

I had a nice chat with Rey the other day (resort manager at coconut cove). He acknowledged that the website is way different now and acknowledged the issues everyone is having and said they are working on it. Take screenshots of your reservations! He recommended this! So they can keep working and identifying the issues. Sounds like a part of the reason for the change in reservation system was to pool inventory together into 1 pool (after 6 months I presume) so that a person doesn’t have to add shorts stays together from both sides to get a longer stay. Also said long term plan was to “marry the Hyatt’s up with the welk resorts”. So that seems the be the driving forces behind the change in the reservation system. Sounds like this is the system the welks are already on? He also made it sound like the over booking issues have been fixed.

We were told today at a sales presentation at Pinon Pointe that the search feature and query results is dependent on how you acquired your week/points. I would agree with this based on our acquisition not being from the developer - we've seen search results dropping over the last few years.

That sounds like a lie designed to scare you into buying from the developer.
