Changes Coming in 2025

Hi Tuggers,
We are downsizing, moving to a 55+ community after living in our 4 bedroom house for 37 years. DH was reluctantly in on the move but I want to do this, will be good for both of us. So just as we were planning to put our house up for sale, the city decided to tear up the street to put new water pipes in the neighborhood. Our street was first and project is making the street impossible to navigate. On the positive note the crew says the street will be paved mid December, before Christmas.
We will have our Christmas celebration here, with our kids for last time.
Hoping to sell quickly, but we can wait for right price.

We did this 10 years ago, selling our 4 bedroom house after living there 25 years. The neighbors across the street decided to remodel and created a huge pile of debris in their front yard when we sold. It caused a few buyers to tell their realtor, keep going, as they pulled up for a showing.

We sold in Washington state and moved to Nevada four and a half years ago (already!!) and time has flown since then. It was tough leaving things behind, but we couldn't be happier. The new start we made here was energizing, and we have no regrets. I hope things for you are as good as they have been here for us.

Best wishes to you both! I'm envious only in that we can't get our timing lined up right . . . and until it seems to be possible, we still haven't figured out where we want to land yet.

Wishing you well in your move! When I retired we talked about it and also looked at some locations but couldn’t agree on “where.” Now, when we move our choice of locations will be easy - we’ll need to stay close to our doctors!

This is important to consider. Our primary Dr is half mile away and shares offices with an urgent care clinic. Specialists are a few miles away near the hospital.

We have a grocery across the street, a nail place next door as well as a shipping store with UPS and USPS pickup. A new car wash just opened also, I joined the monthly plan so my car is squeaky clean.

Our insurance will let us keep our doctors if we decide to go to them still. My PCP left earlier this year and I’ve only seen her replacement a few times, so I may go to someone closer to new home. DH likes his PCP so will travel back to see him. The place we are going is close to many doctors and a hospital. Communities 55+ Usually are near all kinds of medical offices. There is a Publix shopping center that is accessible by golf cart within the community. For now not getting a golf cart.

That is one of the most important decision in relocating to a new area. You much have excellent physicians and hospitals to care for your spouse and you.
