When does (did) the Cendant reorganisation take place? How will it affect the current RCI exchange rules?
RCI acts as a sort of go-between/middleman/agent for its members and the resorts.
As we pay for this agency service (we could in some instances book directly with a resort) we should expect value for money.
We might expect if a resort had to cancel, or alter exchanging arrangements, that RCI as the agent would provide a service in updating the member. However this is often not the case. RCI will come back and say contact the resort etc etc.
An example of this was given in another thread, and it illustrates that the left hand doesn`t know what the right hand is doing. A Fairfield resort which is (was?) owned by the the same master company as RCI, i.e. Cendant puts a responsibility on RCI, whereas RCI puts the responsibility on Fairfield (or the owner!)
Excellent service!
It is hoped that the Cendant reorganisation referred to will smooth out some of the wrinkles in the system!
