Looking at a few photos referenced today within this forum, I noticed a picture of a cruise ship quite clearly named Celebrity "Solstice".

I don't "cruise" (and have no interest in ever doing so) but I was nonetheless prompted to wonder if Celebrity Resorts (...now reinvented as Legacy Vacation Club after the Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing of Celebrity Resorts in 2009) and the "Celebrity" cruise ship operations were / are activities of the same company or is it just name coincidence? Anyone know with actual facts and certainty?

No, Celebrity is part of Royal Caribbean which is a publicly traded company.

Royal Caribbean International (RCI):
 • Azamara Cruises (A Celebrity company)
 • Celebrity Cruise Line
 • Pullmantur S.A.
 • Royal Caribbean Cruise Line (RCCL)
 • Royal Caribbean International
 • TUI Cruises (A joint venture w/RCI)

Thanks...

Thank you for your prompt and informative reply. As a (...now happily former) owner within the tragic comedy known as Celebrity Resorts / Legacy Vacation Club, I find it very reassuring to know that their highly questionable operations and antics are at least confined to dry land....
