 I purchased a package in September 2004 from Holiday Group that was supposed to be 154,000 points at Causeway on the Gull in Nisswa, MN. Now Fairfield is telling me that they know nothing of it's affiliation with this resort and they have me with Dolphin's Cove. I called Causeway to question the relationship with Fairfield, but of course on Saturday, the one to really ask is gone until Tuesday. I asked the gal at registration and she confirmed that there still is a connection with Fairfield. I am so confused. I also noticed that some of Worldmark resorts are missing from Fairfield's website. Galena, IL used to be there but now they are gone. Does anyone know what is going on or do I just stew until Monday I bought this because it is just a couple of hour from my home and an easy commute.

Life can sure throw you a loop.

Causeway deed

I am deeded with 'Interval week 18 in lot 9, Block 1, Causeway on Gull Three'. There is no mention of Fairfield in the deed. My purchase agreement with Holiday Group does have the Fairfield Points information. I can't wait until Monday to talk to someone with some answers. When I am in Fairfield's website to look for availability, Causeway does come up. Week 18 in Minnesota isn't anything to write home about.

Interesting. I've not heard of Fairfield having any connection with Causesay. The only thing I've been told by Causeway is that the new units are in the RCI points system; and if you buy a resale you can never put it pionts. The only way to get into the points is by buying a new unit from the developer. That did not interet me so I never pursued it any further. Is this the first time you are trying to use it since you bought it 15 months ago?

Causeway

I was on the FF site looking for availability, when I noticed that the only resort showing up on the map in the upper midwest was one resort in Wisconsin Dells. Worldmark has a resort in Galena, IL that used to show up there. I actually have 4 contracts with FF that I have purchased, but only 3 contract numbers showed up on my account. I called FF to see what was what with my points, the Dophin's Cove name came up. It was not so much using the points, but verifying that all the information was recorded properly. I bought that package so that I would be able to go to this area in summer. I'm thinking July 1, 2007 is a good time to test the waters.

I don't have proof, but ...

I'm positive that Causeway was affiliated with Fairfield. I remember getting upset with hubby that we'd turned down the Fairfield pitch after I discovered the affiliation because then we'd have actually been able to use our points (we own bluegreen), if we'd bought Fairfield at more than one resort within driving distance.

Causeway info

I spoke to FF owner services today. I gave her my contract number and she brought up my ownership as being at Causeway. I told her what I had been told from the vacation planners and she tried to figure out why they didn't have the same info. She said the site code for FF resorts are 2 digits and the affililates are 4, but what she didn't understand is why Causeway didn't appear in the directory. Thank you all for the input. Of course these things happen on the weekends. She said I might have been talking to the reservation center in Redmond and they're new to the system, but still unsettling. There are still so questions unanswered, so an email is needed to Fairfield.

The lastest on Causeway

I sent an email to FF about my ownership in the resort and the FF points situation. I was told that Causeway is no longer affiliated, but I can still use my points in FF at this resort. At least that is the story I'm told. I'm still a bit confused about all the points that are affiliated at Causeway. If no one knows about the resort, who uses the points associated with those units if the deeded FF owners are not using those points at that resort? Or am I not understanding just how FF resorts work? In any case, Causeway is a great place to go in the summer and for me it is within a couple of hours drive.

It sounds like Causeway was only an affiliate of FF and not actually part of the FF system. Affiliate resorts can and do change from time to time so maybe the affiliation has ended.
