Hello. My husband, son and I are going to the Carlsbad Seapoint Resort next weekend. If anyone can give us any information on this resort, I would appreciate it.

We will be in a one bedroom unit. Any suggestions what room numbers are good?

I see from their website that they have a lot of resort activities. Is there a charge for all of the activities or just some of them?

What about the sales presentation? Is it worth sitting through? Is it very high pressured?

Any information you can give me regarding the resort would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Kim

Nice resort -- across the highway from the ocean. What timeframe are you coming? Need a car to get around. What are your interests? It is about 10 minutes from Legoland.

I recommend that you join TUG so you can read the resort reviews. This alone is worth the subscription price.

We really enjoyed this resort, you are just across the highway from the ocean and surf beach. We enjoyed walking to the Coaster train and taking it down to San Diego. You may hear the trains at night, but it did not bother us.

Thank you for the info

Thanks to everyone for the info. I really do appreciate it.

We are checking in on Sunday, August 3rd and we are renting a car. So far, we plan to go to the San Diego Zoo and Sea World. Although, I've been reading about the Animal Park and may go there instead of the Zoo.

I am a member of TUG but the reviews on this resort are over a year old. So I posted on here hoping to get some updated info.

Thanks!

Kim

We stayed at Carlsbad Seapointe last year....I should do a review  .

It was nicely located. The beaches are very close, Legoland is a few minutes away. We drove to SeaWorld one day and with traffic, it took over an hour to get there. I think we left the area at 11? Anyhow, everyone was friendly and helpful at the resort, coffee in the lobby, small pool, water play area, underground parking, you can borrow beach chairs from the activities folks....

All good. Beds weren't as comfy as some other timeshares, but we slept okay. Train noise, yes, but it didn't bother us. We'd return again! Have a great trip!

Wild Animal Park is inland and temperatures will be over 90 degrees. Most of the animals on hot days hide -- keep that in mind. The zoo and Sea World are near the ocean and much cooler in August!

You can always do the Wild Animal Park early, find out when it opens. We went on a hot day and there weren't as many animals awake as if we had gone early, but it was still fascinating.

I think the resort activities for kids here charge if there are materials - for example, if they were tye-dying a t-shirt or making a picture frame. They had some game type activities that were free (can't remember exactly, but maybe jump rope contests or hula hoops - stuff like that).
We were there a few years ago and they have a free breakfast where
they try to sign you up for sales tours (we didn't) and local groups also
present. We took the day Mexico tour bus to Ensenada and La Buffadora (sp)
and enjoyed it. It was perfect for us since we are not very adventurous!

My Mom, my sister, and I went in 2007 and had a nice time. We really enjoyed sitting around the outdoor firepits and having a toddy (sp?) in the evenings. We went in June, right after school was out, and it was downright cold in the evenings!

I didn't really like that it was not ON the beach, but across the street from the beach. I'm just spoiled like that. ;)

I also second the motion to take the train down to San Diego! That was a great day trip that we all really enjoyed.

We went to the breakfast thing, didn't sit through any timeshare speech, and declined the trip to Mexico.

Unit 306 is among the best. It has the best view. But, will you be able to get it? It's usually reserved for owners there.
Ask for a view... some units don't have one. And, it would be wise to call ahead to request this.
