Hi, Looking into buying into Carlsbad Inn. How hard is it to trade into a Sept or Oct?
How much in advance can you request?

Lots of availability right now in GPX for Carlsbad Inn Sept/Oct 2020. Inventory is released one year in advance. For requests, GPX will send an email to inform you that the week you requested is available, but the week is in open inventory until someone books it. Requests are not taken for summer Southern California weeks.

For So Cal I typically see Grand Pacific Palisades, Carlsbad Inn, Carlsbad Seapointe, Coronado Beach Resort, Southern California Beach Club, San Clemente Cove, Winner's Circle, Sand Pebbles, Capistrano Surfside Inn, Channel Island Shores, Villa L'Auberge and an occasional Wave Crest. Others can be deposited, but I don't see them routinely. Hope that helps.

Have you visited Carlsbad seapointe? I’ve been to both and we prefer seapointe over the Carlsbad inn.

Availability for Carlsbad inn is generally more readily available.

There is currently lots of availability for Carlsbad Inn because there is a major construction project going on and many owners are depositing weeks rather than using.

No we haven’t. Tried to get a weekend stay when we had MarBrisa but never was able.

If you own Carlsbad inn, if your week is floating you can easily get September week. It’s only difficult to get July or August weeks and you’ll have to deposit into Gpx and pay the exchange fee.

There are no floating weeks at Carlsbad Inn. It is all fixed week, fixed unit. They don’t use a season like Seapointe. I know. I own at both of them.

Oh ok. Thanks for the correction. I only own at seapointe and I thought they operated the same. Do you think the beach access is better from Carlsbad inn or seapointe?

Carlsbad Inn for sure. There are steps leading down to the beach right from the back side of the resort. No highway to cross and the beach is much wider with volleyball courts and bathrooms. I tend to use my day use more frequently at Seapointe because it’s closer to my house and the pool is nicer.
