Car rentals through Capital One-- I was skeptical but now I am convinced these are the lowest prices for Kauai and Maui

We finally decided to get the Venture X card, mostly because of the lounge access at Denver airport. The card is $399 annually, but you get a $300 credit and 10,000 miles to use on travel, which is worth $100.

I booked our car rental on Kauai last month and saved big money on the rental compared to the price I had through Discount Hawaii Car Rental. Costco was very expensive. But Capital One had a great rate through Dollar. Saved like $350 over the lowest I could find.

Move forward to my planning of our trip to Maui this winter, 45 days, $1,407 through Dollar, which is the lowest price once again, total with taxes and fees. The lowest price I could find anywhere was else, searching Costco and autorentals.com was SixT for $2,300. I was able to use the $300 annual credit toward the rental.

I wanted to check my rate through Hertz for something like your trip. I get a Leisure/Travel corporate rate through the company I retired from. I picked 45 days in January into February. It came back with $1,800 total. My corporate rate has been the best I usually can find over the last 7 years. Before that it was Costco and occasionally Discount Hawaii.

That reminds me I have to book my car for Kauai in May.šŸ¤™šŸ»
