I have a rental reserved with Budget for a trip to Orlando in April which I booked in Sept. 08. I have paperwork showing what Budget calls "Total confirmed rate $179.78".
I recently checked my reservation and I found that the "Total confirmed rate " is now $193.10.
It shows that taxes increased from $10.97 to $11.79. I can understand this increase since Budget cannot control a tax increase by the city, state etc.
The new rate also shows an increase listed under "Fees $30.91" which were originally "Fees $18.41".
The confirmation list the car charge for the week and then taxes and fees. Under Taxes and fees there is a airport concession fee, energy recovery fee, taxes and then Fees. This is where the amount has changed. There is no list of what these fees are comprised of.
My concern is that by the time I actually step up to the rental counter who knows what the total reservation will have increased. Is Budget expected to give me the original Total confirmed Rate?
This is a small amount when compared to the cost of the same rental which is now quoted as $355.00.
I guess confirmed does not mean what I thought it did.
