I am trying to find a reasonable priced car rental agency near Marriott resort without much success. Do we have to take bus to Disney Paris transportation center to pick up a rental car? Which rental companies are within walking distance for the train station? Any recommendations? Should we reserve now or wait when we arrive at the resort at the end of September 2024? We have Capital Once Venture X card with primary car rental coverage. Do we need to buy rental car's insurance?

And we plan to drive to Fontainebleau and Chateau de-Vaux-Vicomte. Any other small towns we can try to drive to?

FWIW, I'm headed there later this year and reserved a car at Orly airport. Its not that expensive.

We used Hertz at the Marne la Vallee train station...which made sense for us because we took Eurostar in from London and departed through (and left our rental at) de Gaulle. I don't think there is a rental counter at the resort or in the nearby village.

We just booked a car at CDG for the week. The price was very reasonable. Less than $300 for 7 days through National.

I use the primary insurance on the Sapphire Preferred Card and never buy any additional coverage from the rental car companies.

Generally, any credit card CDW will be primary when the rental is international.

We only plan to use car for 1 or 2 days from Disney train station. It looks like that that Hertz location was permanently closed. Any other rental agency within walking distance from the train station?

You could try contacting the concierge at the resort to see if they have any suggestions.

If you are a member of Costco then go thru their website to rent a vehicle. You'll save some big bucks!

Another hint: Try to always avoid renting a car at an airport. Extra airport taxes on airport car rentals will make your rental costly.

I have compared airport rentals and other rental options a few times and I have often found the airport options to be cheaper (even with the additional airport taxes & fees).

They seem to offer lower base rates on rentals than off-site rental places. Especially by the time you factor in the additional costs and inconvenience of getting from the airport to a rental car office somewhere else.

I believe I read a review recently that said there was an Avis and maybe a sixt at Chessy station/Marne la Vallee train station.

There are at least two rental car companies which rent cars from the parking garage at the disney train station. Avis has a desk inside the station and sixt has a pickup at the far entrance of the parking garage so we had to pre book with sixt.

Thank you all for the valuable information about car rental & resort.

I emailed the resort to request a villa near entrance for easy access to public transportation. Also, I checked Avis at Chessy station and found an intermediate vehicle auto is around $170/day. It is kind of expensive for a day.

Reasonable prices (IMO) and car rentals no longer go hand in hand. We now pay more for a single day of rental than we did for 10 days about a decade ago.

When we were there in April, I found renting at Hertz CDG and returned to Nord Train. It was cheaper than renting for one day and ment we did not have to wait.
Was about $35/days with my cdp which include supercover. Would have been $25 I think with a different FF CDP.

Sixt.com at train station is $372 for the week cheaper if paid now. I just checked as I will be there 10/6.

Even with a train and bus station, this is not a big place...not like Disney Orlando transportation center. The local bus (or Marriott shuttle) is 10-15 minutes. I'd reserve now. You can cancel or amend your booking if the price drops. Just get a "pay at the time of rental" rate.
You can drive to Provins (a medieval village), but the bus at Disney Paris is better--a lovely 45 minute ride thru the French countryside. We also drove to Meaux, 20 minutes away, for the excellent WWI museum.

Some of these prices mentioned seem really high.
Car rental prices this year across Europe have mostly come down (and in some cases by quite a lot).
I booked quite a while back for our 2 week trip to Club Son Antem Mallorca next month for £245.38.
I recently checked the current price, cancelled and rebooked for £148.60.
For several years now, I have always chosen a company / rental with free cancellation option and this has saved me quite a lot of money.

That’s what I thought too. But Avis was much higher than sixt. What company do you use? and is it manual or automatic?

My recent rentals have all been in Spain, either on the mainland or in Mallorca.
I have in the past used Sixt (with the MVC discount they offer for Club Son Antem owners) and also Avis (with the discount they offer all MVC owners) but typically these still work out more expensive than other options.
More recently, I have used Drivalia, Centauro and Hiper in Mallorca, but always though Zest or Auto Europe rental brokers.
I don’t specify manual or automatic, but mostly I get manual. So I don’t really know what price differential there may be for these unfortunately.

Do you know if sixt has a discount for MVC. Or the discount code for MVC?
