Car drives into pool at Smugglers Notch Resort

My first thought is that this is someone underaged.
Yes. Not releasing her name, but calling her a woman. Also- she’s from New Jersey, but the car has NH license plates. Weird. More to this story.

Latest is the owner of the car was the passenger and the driver claims she grabbed her keys as a joke. She pleaded not guilty. . 🤷

Well, assuming they have pretty good evidence that the driver was the driver, IDK how you make that claim. I get you want to have them prove it in court, or at least make them offer some plea deals, but "I drove an old Jeep into a pool, but I'm not guilty of driving an old Jeep into a pool" is an "interesting strategy, Cotton".

"I grabbed the keys as a joke"... sure, but I've never heard of any car that wasn't maybe FSD starting, changing gears and driving anywhere simply by you holding the keys... Like pretty much all cars need you to to more than hold the keys to start them, let alone get them into a gear - several positive steps in a specific order - steps that are hard to do accidentally, probably for reasons like these.

For sure! There’s definitely a lot more to this story.

Must have been scary for the two children trapped under the car. Kudos to the BIL for getting the children out. Hopefully the little girl who was taken to the hospital is recovering?
Freak accident!

I am sure some do, but one should never plead guilty at their arraignment. This is how the legal justice system works. You work out a plea deal later on with prosecutors. Innocent until proven guilty.
