Question for the timeshare experts. We just purchased 100,000 points with Capital Vacation for $13,000. The reason we did is that they will give us 325,000 points for our two weeks ( 1 bedroom) in South Africa (Sudwala) and our one week (2 bedroom) at Fox hills in Mishicot WI. Since RCI is raising their fees constantly and our 20 years of free RCI is ending next year this seemed to make sense. Also the ability to use points for less than a week at a time and also for hotels, flights, etc was appealling. We have five days to rescend so need advice ASAP. Thanks in advance for your help.

I’d rescind. You can buy for $1. Also better systems than Capital such as Wyndham, Marriott, and WorldMark. Also, we’ve come across many stories in which the TS companies never followed through on buying your TS.

If this transaction suites you, then you must decide how valuable it is. You are not only buying something, but you are getting rid of something you don't want. That has value. The one thing you MUST confirm is that the 325K points for the 2 timeshares is IN THE CONTRACT. If not, you are being sold a bill of goods. This process is used in Mexico to facilitate a sale - with owners being stuck with both timeshares. If the salesman said it, you need to confirm it.

Thanks for the help. Sent letter to cancel contract today certified mail. This was the worst timeshare sales we ever did. We were there for 6 hours and they didn't even feed us. We will NEVER do another one. We have one more year of our "free" 20 years of RCI from our South Africa purchases so will think about a change after that. Would like to get into some kind of point system but not sure which one. More research to do.
