I requested thru II for Cape Cod last August for anything next summer. I deposited a Kauai 2BR. I still haven't received a match. I only had 1 phone call for a resort in May. I'm thinking I better forget about it and try for plan B. (not sure what that will be). Should I keep holding out? Thanks

Well, I can't help on that, but I requested a unit on the Outer Banks using my Outer Banks summer (4th of July ) week through RCI. It was requested in Aug and no match yet. And I am supposed to have priority into my own resort! They say people are late paying maintenance fees. Like me, you might just have to give it awhile. But then does II rent units like RCI?? who knows.

Its too early to give up ! Indeed a lot of people will only pay their M/T by the end of the year. Wait at least a couple of months. Cape Cod is very difficult to get in the summer. I know this from personal experience. Also, not many Cape resorts have 2bdr. units if this is what you have requested. There definitely is an imbalance between supply and demand at Cape Cod during the most desirable months of the year. You may want to take another look at the dates you have specified and/or consider additional nearby locations such as RI.

You know that times are tough when a summer Cape Cod week listing is offered for only a dollar, but closes with exactly ZERO bids...

If I had seen this earlier today, I may have gone for it. We are trying to exchange into the Cape, and this is one of the resorts on my II request.. It might be nice to actually own a summer week there. But I should really stick to my guns and only buy a 2 BR LO somewhere w/low maintenance fees. It's really the only thing worth continually paying MF, IMO.

Hmm, there's a 2 BR Brewster Green for sale as well, but it's deeded to April, so not ideal for me.

You didn't miss much...

If I had seen this earlier today, I may have gone for it.

In my opinion, Main Street in Hyannis is a truly lousy vacation location; busy and very congested with vehicle traffic during the summer months.
In addition, the Cape Winds facility is just a converted motel (...although the good news is that it's managed by VRI). Then again, if regarded solely as a "home base" from which to depart early each day to reach the many much nicer parts of Cape Cod for a week, I guess it could work...
