I'd like to hear from anyone who has been to the Canucks bar/restaurant in Mazatlan.

Have been to Mazatlan on vacation for a week the last 2 years in a row with friends. Have loved the experience. Last time my friend and I were doing some bar hopping in the middle of the day. One of the places we wanted to stop at was the Canucks bar but it turns out they don't open until 4 PM.

Now that we're back home we've been looking into some investment opportunities in Mazatlan, possibly buying a business and running it for a number of years before retiring.

Turns out that one of the places currently for sale in Mazatlan is the Canucks bar. Looks interesting with the information received so far but still waiting for financial information.

Also, if anyone has had any experience with operating a business in Mexico and how to go about owning and running a business there as a Canadian, I'd appreciate any info you could pass on.

This might be a pipe dream, but it's a good one to think about as we experience our first snow storm of the year in Victoria.

I have been to Cannucks several times. Nice restaurant and a weekly meeting place for Canadiens & US types on Fridays. Believe it is owned by a Canadian who is a real nice fellow but works a lot of hours. Is a good location for the view of the sunset. Also, almost all the parades either set up in that area or go past it (don't know if that is good or bad for business). If you want more info go to yahoo groups and log on to mazinfo -the folks on that group know Cannucks well and live in Mazatlan and could give you some real good perspectives.

See if you can get in touch with Roger C. on MazInfo. He's a real estate agent in Old Town Maz, and has lived there for many years. I'm sure his insight, and perhaps Rick's, would be invaluable. Ask Marlene Santana, too if she's around.
