After our 2 week plus stay at Grande Vista, I was emailed a folio after each week - a PDF file with our charges, etc. When I try to open it I get:

Error

Failed to load PDF document. [Reload]

I've tried with different browsers, and also had my DH try and he got the same error. After the first week I had the front desk print it out for me. Now I get the same issue after my 2nd week stay. Has anyone else encountered this? I think I'll have to call Marriott and have them snail-mail me a copy since I'm now home.

We got ours via email from Grand Vista the day we checked out. Call them and ask them to send it again. Verify the email address they are using or have it sent to another email address if you have one.

I did a search on this and it seems that it may be an issue where your computer is trying to open the PDF in Chrome or default browser. Try saving the PDF to your computer and then open it directly with Adobe Acrobat Reader...
I second @dioxide45's suggestion. I've received Marriott (hotel) folios that wouldn't open with anything but the latest version of Adobe Acrobat.

This doesn't work for me. I followed the instructions in the link. First I checked to see if Adobe had any updates, which it did, so I installed them. Then I opened it and selected the FOLIO file that I downloaded from Marriott's email to me. Here's what I get now:

Adobe Acrobat Reader could not open the file 'FOLIO_xxxx.pdf' because it is either not a
supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an
email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded.)

Sigh.

Over 80% of the time when I get emailed my folio, I get exactly the same error condition. Recently I emailed Marriott customer support. I sent them my automatically generated pdf folio and they couldn't open it either. Then they had the resort resend the folio and we both could open it.

Interestingly, the first (corrupted) folio was about 150 kB and the newer (functional) pdf was about 100 kB. So, the files are significantly different in size and, I presume, content.

The person that I corresponded with is ronnie dot bernardo at vacationclub dot com.

If you need your folio to get you Marriott night's credit, etc., I suggest calling the resort and have them either resend it or scan it and resend.

BTW, I've tried both MS Edge and Google chrome and neither can open Marriott's autogenerated pdfs. I forwarded the email to a tech savvy friend and "no joy". I also tried opening it with my smart phone and, again, it couldn't open it. In my opinion, Marriott has a problem.

I just waited until the stay showed up in my marriott.com Bonvoy account. I was able to download a PDF from there that was readable. I don't know why Marriott has to make it so difficult.
