This afternoon two barges pulled the floating sand pipes into the ocean and the main pumper has arrived. Looks like the beach project will start now. Great news!

Sounds wonderful. I hate to be negative, but what happens when the next big noreaster hits and takes the sand out again, as it frequently does???

In Ocean City, MD they continue periodic beach replenishment to preserve the base which was established years ago. The current situation which has caused Cancun months of little tourism should be enough to convince the Mexican Government that there is no gold in Cancun without a gold coastline.

I read in one of the post or links to a news article that this contract will not only restore the beaches in Cancun but maintain them for the next 5 years.
