Here is a link for photo's of the beach from 1/21 - 1/28/06. The good news is the sand came back slowly on Friday and today people were able to walk back out on the beach. http://community.webshots.com/user/jspangler911

Not much of a beach. Are they doing anything to restore it back to pre-hurricane condition? Would love to go back but not if it looks like that.

Yes, the beach restoration is planned to start any day now. They say the beaches will be better than before the storm and I'm sure they will be.

What are the pipes used for?

Thanks for posting all the great pictures! At the risk of appearing not too bright, what do they use the pipes for in the beach restoration? Do they put them in the water somewhere?

Never mind, I just read the article from geoff. The pipes are used to pump the sand onto the beaches. Duh!

That's Ok, I'm sure they don't do that very often in Minnesota! Ha! Have a great time!
