Cancelling timeshare with IHG, all fees paid off. Any advice?

We purchased a $10,000 time share right before the pandemic, and we were able to use it a couple of times. We don't think we will be able to take advantage of it anymore (not that we were really able to use it much up to now). We paid off everything already. Will they give us a hard time for canceling it? Any tricks/traps to watch out for? What is the usual process? Thanks so much!

They will tell you that you can't just cancel it. I assume it's paid off and all you owe is annual fees? They will ultimately turn it over to collection, but it's unlikely (but not impossible) that it will result in a bad credit report.

You might consider giving it away on TUG's free timeshare giveaways to both release you, and give it to a new owner who might enjoy it.
