Has anyone tried to cancel a membership in a time share? Perhaps by paying a one-time fee.. and then having no further obligations for annual fees.

Do you have a deeded timeshare or RTU? Most Mexican timeshares are RTU. You have a "membership" at a club. You just stop paying and your membership ends. Like a country club or your local gym. No need to pay a one time fee.

Just remember to block your card/account to prevent further charges.

@98cabo You will get narrowly veiled threats against your credit etc, but they are toothless. Drop them in the trash and move on.

Go celebrate!

If the membership is paid off and all that is left are maintenance fees some of the resorts would allow you to pay a fee to end your membership. If the membership is paid off you could try giving it away here at Tug.

If your membership is truly a Mexican membership you could probably just walk away.
