I cancelled my week at Harborside and banked my points, not sure if they are waving banking fees or 7/1 deadline to bank points, call customer service. I cancelled weeks ago. You can dump points into Interval as well.

This is my use year, do I retain my week to book within my season this year if there are available weeks later?

It sounds like you own Every Other Even Year, points are good for entire Calendar Year, check with Vistana, with everything going on right now, they may make exceptions.

If you cancel outside 60 days, you get your week back to either rebook your week this year, use StarOptions for somewhere else, or bank the StarOptions by the deadline.

Thank you, I am 76 days away and family is so sad I have to cancel. We are thinking end of October, wonder how the weather is that time of year? We've only been going there in July.

If this is your Home Resort week, then I believe you can cancel up to 1 day before arrival and get your week back to use later this year. If it was booked using Staroptions then you need to cancel before the 60 day mark to retain full unrestricted use of the options

I thought this only applied to true voluntary ownership? So if you own a voluntary resale, you can cancel your home resort up to 1 day prior, but if your ownership is inside VSN then you must still cancel outside 60 days. Even if it is a home resort reservation.

Oh, I didn't know that. Thanks for the correction

I had rented my June week. I also had a July week. My June renter moved to the July week. I then canceled June and was able to reserve an early December week, the last 3 bedroom available in Gold season. Hopefully someone will want to go there in December and pay enough to cover maintenance. What a mess!

We have a end of June week that we rented. I can not cancel, because we used redweek and contractually have to wait this out. Either hoping that Bahamas and Atlantis reopens in June or the renter cancels soon.

Are you the owner that rented the week out or are you renting from an owner. Based on other threads, if you are an owner, there is nothing necessarily stopping you from cancelling. The renter just gets their money back. Perhaps best to talk to Redweek and the renter about the best course of action so you don't end up with restrictions on the reservation or options.

We own the week. I would prefer to have the rental completed. Getting the 3-bedroom back would no really work for us, and I really would not prefer to eat the maintenance fees. If it gets canceled and the options are restricted, it would make for horrible 120 out usage.

Holding my breath that our three weeks at St John, in July will still happen.

What I am saying is if you were to cancel now, would you be better off with having unrestricted options that you could bank? While having the reservation complete is ideal, there is risk once inside of 60 days. Need to consider the risks. It is possible that the renter is not planning on going and has just not filed the cancellation with Redweek or Redweek hadn't got around to looking at it. better to find out now vs later.

No can do......

What is the cancellation policy?

The owner is able to choose the cancellation policy for their rentals. RedWeek currently supports these three cancellation options:

  • Flexible: 100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before check-in. No refund thereafter.
  • Moderate: 50% refund if canceled at least 60 days before check-in. No refund thereafter.
  • Strict: No refunds given on cancellations

An owner may not cancel after an offer is accepted.
