Hello, I cashed in my 2020 Ko Olina week for DC points and used them to book Waikoloa Ocean Club in May. Well I am not going to be able to go and I want to make sure I understand the repercussions correctly.

I can cancel up to a couple days in advance and MVCI will put my points put into a holding account.
The holding account has a 120 day window which moves forward each day by 1 day.
I can book anything that is available within that window.
My points expire at the end of my use year (which I believe is 12/31/2020 since this was an enrolled week.
I cannot bank the points into 2021.

Am I correct in my assumption?

What I would like to do is to use my points in January 2021. I assume since that window will begin to open in September so I am good to go.

TIA

They actually extended the 120 Holding Account points expiration to 12/31/21, so you should be all set. All of the rest of your understanding is correct.

Also, for total understanding, the check in date of a ressie must be on or before your points expiration date, so had they not extended the expiration of the 120 day holding account to 12/31/21, and if it had remained 12/31/20, you previously would not have been able to do what you want to do.
