Hi! My son was recently injured and is not able to do any physical activity for the next 6 weeks. We are considering cancelling our trip to book something for later in the summer.

I checked Redweek and there is already a lot of inventory out there for the same week we would be cancelling so not sure renting is the best option, unless I come in lower than the others.

Reservation was made with points so I guess they will go into holding? Not exactly sure how that works. What are the stipulations for using the points in holding?

These are the times I wish I was a little more well versed with the logistics of Interval. Any pointers?

You cannot deposit a points reservation to Interval- so that is not an option.

The rental market is very soft right now. Even in popular beachfront locations prime rentals are sitting longer and prices are being lowered as a result.

If you have the Travelex insurance you would want to not cancel and then file a claim for reimbursement.

Holding points are limited to reservations that can be made inside of 60-days from checkin. So if there is something available for later this summer that is within 60-days that you want; the holding points would be the way to go.

Thank you jwalk03 for the additional information. I did not know Interval wasn’t even an option.

Do the holding points have an expiration date? I am guessing yes

They retain their original expiration date at the end of the use year.
