They are very stealthy and generally stay well out of sight of humans. I have come across their tracks on several occasions, but have only caught a brief glimpse of a lynx once in my lifetime. Amazing story and a real case of both good timing and awareness. Thanks so much for sharing it.

Perhaps in the USA, but they are not endangered here in Canada, which is where the picture was taken. Still lots of habitat for them in less-populated areas.
