Can you still deposit canceled credit pool points to RCI?

My use year begins on April 1st and I am still undecided on what to do with the points. I was thinking about placing them in the credit pool, so I can combine them for a big family Disney World vacation sometime in 2014. If I don't use the credit pool points, can I still make a reservation, cancel the reservation and deposit the canceled points into RCI and extend them for another 2 years? I can't seem to stay on top of all the rules.

Thanks!
