Hello. My wife and I are looking to get completely out of debt and are looking to sell our Cabo Azul membership through Diamond/Hilton. Anyone know if this is possible, and if so what is the best way to go about selling it? We have a fully paid off 15k point Cabo collection membership. Thanks in advance.

If you still own money on it then that must be paid off first (if you want to sell it).

It's fully paid off, just looking to pay off other debts. We do owe this year's maintenance fees, but can pay those before selling.

Good. Are you asking what it is worth? (I will not know but I could move your thread to the HVC/DRI forum where someone should be able to help).

I did move your thread. What would a 15k PT Cabo collection (of which the Cabo collection has only one resort - Cabo Azul) be worth? OP, what are your MFs?

Thanks for moving it. Maintenance fees are about $1800 a year. With the Cabo collection you are able to book in any of the other collections too, which is nice. Maintenance fees were about half the amount of the US collection.

The big issue is that HVC won’t allow resale purchases to book in any other collection than what you own.

Points are not worth much. U.S. and Hawaii are worth nothing because the MF/pt value is too high and you are limited only to the underlying collection. Cabo may have small value because the resort is really nice and MF/pt is lower but YMMV. Timesharenation.com has a number of DRI points collections available for free under Diamond Points. It does not list what collection so you must inquire on each. There have been Cabo Azul in the past that Tuggers have picked up for free. Also check Redweek for recent sales - do not look at inventory that has been sitting more than 3 months because those are not selling.

Deeds are worth slightly more but you can also get these for free if you are patient.

As mentioned by @dayooper, resale ownerships in HVC are restricted to being able to book in only the collection. The Cabo collection only includes Cabo Azul. The Maintenance Fees are lower than the other collections and you might find someone interested in taking it over. I picked up a small ownership there last year to use just at Cabo Azul and am happy with that - it wound up being free though.

The only exception to the booking limitation would be through using DeX but that costs an exchange fee. HVC will allow a resale owner to enroll the points in The Club with the purchase of an equal amount of points from the developer, but that is not typically a good deal.

How many points, 15,000 exactly? How much are 2025 maintenance fees, exactly? Can you post a 2025 points chart showing how many points are required to reserve various units at Cabo Azul? Thanks!

Hopefully, someone from HVC/DRI side will be able to verify that this is current and correct.
