Title pretty much says it all. Can you gift an accommodation certificate and give to a friend or family member and book the reservation in their name?

Giving it t a friend would require the purchase of guest certificate. So yes, it can be done. There is a $59 fee for the guest certificate. Though if you are a Platinum II member, guest certificates are free.

Once a GC is processed with II most resorts have no record of the originating party, so the reservation is in their name the same as if they booked it themselves. It can still be changed at any time within II and then it updates at the resort.
