Can someone help me understand the economics of a DVC resale?

Other than cast member the other 3 options I'm aware of are DVC (with blue card and minimum purchase), Disney Visa CC and an Annual Pass of some sort....
Yup, yup, yup. Usually 10% though occasionally 15% unless there's a promtion.

In addition members of Landry's Select Club get discounts and priority seating at applicable locations....
Landry's Select is particularly useful for us because of Yak & Yeti. It's effectively free if you dine at a Landry restaurant slightly more than once a year and being seated immediately at Y&Y with a reservation and almost immediately even without one is really nice.

They have a proportion of up to 40% off some dining options at WDW this summer for Passholders....
I keep looking at this and thinking to myself...I can't. I just can't. WDW in summer was possible in my youth...no more ;-)

Summer doesn't bother me but I don't have a time when I can do it. I'm hoping they offer it again next year, planning to be down in June. I've seen 20% at times for some restaurants especially at lunch for both DVC and AP.

Wow that's a pretty big downside to the system. Who normally plans that far in advance?
I feel planning a year in advance is late! We cruise a bit now and have our schedules planned through mid July 2027. Even reserved all the way through April 2028.

It has been a little strange to book cruises sometimes 2.5 years in advance. Then at about 13 mo ths out, book TS stays to fill in those weeks we are not cruising.

Same here. Just booked a river cruise for Dec, 27 and if the option was available, would book a cruise or land tour for Spring or fall of 28.
