Can RCI priority contract be changed by owner?

Hi all, RCI points newbie here. My points-based interval at Celebrity's Steamboat Hilltop only allows "home group" booking priority at RCI. My interest in buying this TS (E-bay on the cheap) was use of the underlying week--Season 3 on my deed (week 51/Christmas week). Unfortunately, it appears that without better booking priority--"home week" or, at least, "home resort" access--I will probably never succeed in getting a reservation for "my week" through RCI. I'm wondering whether I can and should drop out of the RCI points system and let this interval revert to the deeded week so that I can actually use it. The associated points (61,500) are pretty high for this utilitarian quality resort and it seems a shame to drop whatever value they add. (This year, I've assuaged my frustration by using the points for a Feb. week at Whistler.) So, before my disappointment rises to a "take these points and shove them" level, can any TUGgers advise me about the possibility of getting "home week" priority or any other strategies for using this TS ? :wall:

What you need in order to get Home Week priority is to own a deeded week at the resort. Short of that you are asking RCI, via Points, to give you something more than what you actually own.
