Can Owner Services Tell You From What Contract Points are Drawn?

Was thinking of making some changes to my HGVC portfolio. I own a legacy account (since I bought The Residences resale, they have me as MAX but still have not received my 2025 dues' statement) and have more HGVC points than I need (23680). I have two reservations in 2025 and called owner services to determine from what contracts the approximate 8000 points were drawn. The told me that they can't tell me that but if for example, I sold a contract containing say 8000 points, so long as I had 8000 points remaining in my account, I could transfer 8000 of my 2025 points to the transferee. You guys agree?

Yes. Within the general HGVC bucket, there is no distinction as to where the points come from. They are pooled. So, as stated, if you sell a contract with 8000 points, all you need is to have 8000 points available.

A small complication is if you owned any of the bHC properties. Those are a different bucket. This is not the specific case here, but a general distinction.

Cheers.

Thx! I edited my post to clarify I was addressing HGVC and not the bHC bucket.

Oh, you were clear. I was just adding that as an additional bit of information for anyone else who might find this.

interesting extra layer of accounting on top of the concept of a "deed", but it makes sense.
It is just accounting, a completely man-made concept that can do whatever someone wants it to do as long as it is not against "the rules".

One thing. When I got rid of a contract with a New Year week they did cancel the reservation even though I had enough points in my bucket. Don't know if its the same for a normal home week reservation. So they may potentially cancel it if you have a pending homeweek reservation.

It also does make wonder what if you already booked and used a home week reservation. Does buyer still get home week for same year or if points can still transfer.

Did you have enough points in your bucket from the year you made the home week reservation in? Were they borrowed points left? Saved? Were they a mix of HGVC and bHC? Just taking everything into consideration so we get a clear picture of what happened.

Actually, I posted about this in the deed back sticky and forgot about it. I mixed it up. I had both a New Yers reservation and a home week reservation for two different deeds. The home week reservation was cancelled but New Years was not. I did later cancel the New Years myself so maybe it was just a time delay that they might of cancelled later if I didn't. It was an Elara deeds I gave up this year and I had plenty of HGVC 2024/2025 points unused since it was beginning of year. Also had saved 2024 points as well.
