I just modified my ongoing search without any problem.. You cannot save a modified search if it is in the 30 day window as far as I know.

Sometimes this happens! Some sort of glitch in the system. I think you need to call RCI to have a VG fix this -- it is possible they need to cancel the search and you can start it again, but you lose your place in line when you do that!

rsterling,

Check with the Communications Team to see if they can figure out what's happening. Send a message to feedback@rci.com with TUG in the subject line. Sorry to hear you're having trouble.

Don't do this. You don't want to start over. Follow Madge's advice.

Sorry for the bad advice.

When this happened to me, I called the VG who told me my only option was to cancel the search and re-do it. I let him cancel the search and told him I'd go in myself and re-do it online... I go in later and find that the VG had done it despite my request to do it myself...

rsterling,
The problem *may* be that you have more than 2 <10-week periods for general areas in your search, or more than the total choices allowed by the online entry - that has happened to me more times than I can count, usually by errors by VG's (they have continued some search I no longer wanted) - and usually they have no idea why you are having a problem.

Now that I know the usual culprit for this problem, sometimes I can persuade a VG to check to see all the searches going, and clear something out. But sometimes they say they have, and it hasn't gone away, and I still can't modify my search. I'll call back and sure enough, more than the allowed # of online searches are still going. Occasionally in desperation I have to cancel the search (lose my place) and start again. But this has always been the reason. It took me months to figure this out.
