If you are a Marriott owner can you book a room at the dolphin or swan in Orlando. I was thinking that they are Sheraton resorts. Since Sheraton and Marriott merged can you book rooms there and how do you do you reserve the room With points. Under the Marriott club account I don’t see that resort

Yes anyone can book a room at the Swan and Dolphin, it has nothing to do with MVC.

But you can book it with your Bonvoy account and Bonvoy points. They are in a great location to walk to Epcot and take the boat to Hollywood studios. I haven’t been in a few years but you used to also get Disney perks like extra magic hours.

They are not time shares So not part of Marriott Vacations. You can book them, like any other hotel that is part of Marriott Internstional.

To follow up on @Theiggy and @rthib 's comments, you can book them with Bonvoy Points, not Abound Points as they are part of Marriott Int'l not Marriott Worldwide Vacations.

That said, they are a great way to stay 'on property' without owning or renting DVC. You get all the on-property benefits and can walk to EPCOT and HS. The only 'trick' is that Disney recently changed the Swan/Dolphin/Swan Reserve bus routes to go to Ticket and Transportation instead of MK...so you need to walk to Yacht Club or Boardwalk to take their buses instead.

Did Disney change it? Per a previous post here by @simpsontruckdriver I got the impression that the Swan and Dolphin put their transportation service out for bid and both Mears and Disney Transportation bid on it but Mears won the bid. Thus they went with Mears and Mears really can't go to the same drop off points that Disney busses go. Thus it seems the requirement to go to the TTC was really a result of the service provider the property chose.

Could well be. I was told Disney jacked the rates they were charging Marriott...but that was secondhand by Marriott staff.

It's the usual, the lowest bid won. It sounded like Marriott staff was trying to spin it, but essentially, they wanted less expensive Mears vs more expensive (not "jacked the rates") Disney Transportation. DT has not done the Swan/Dolphin in a few years. Pretty sure the reason is Disney pays us drivers more, while Mears drivers make $1/hr or more in tips. Both Mears and Disney Transportation takes good care of the buses, both train bus drivers 100%, so driver compensation is the only thing I can tell. I am NOT speaking for either company, only thinking logically.

They (swan and dolphin) tend to have better restaurants, although we own at DVC boardwalk and walk over there to eat.
