I have a few questions and posted three threads, not to spam but to separate questions into clear threads.
My parents own 500K Wyndham developer points. They want to pass them on to my sibling and me. If I accept them, is there a way to still keep a vip status with my half? Or (not quite as good) can I achieve it by by adding resale points to my half of the points?
My ideas:
1. (Not likely) Maybe I inherit the VIP status with only 250K points, because they are VIPs.
2. If my sibling only wants 250K points, I could buy 250K resale points for him, and I would keep the original 500K developer for vip.
3. If he wants vip too, we could buy 500K resale points now in their names ahead of time, to add to their 500k developer points, and they would all be VIP points then, right? Some people mentioned that resale points after vip level are all treated as vip points. But I also read here that wyndham might make a distinction between the two kinds later and might only give vip benefits on the original developer points then. Once I have VIP and then buy resale points, which are considered vip, are they "laundered" into vip points which wyndham can't identify as resale points (under current policies)? This matters because my plan here would be to split the points 500K each when the will goes into effect.
You all know way more about this than i do. So your correction, guidance, and other ideas are welcomed.
BTW They have a 2350k point contract and 150K point contract. they said they can convert to two 250k contracts. i assume this will cost them. Is there a better/cheaper way to do it that they don't know about? (I never mentioned this website to them as they already bought their pints, and so they know nothing about doing any of this in a cheaper way.)
