Can I buy TPUs?

I've searched on these boards and haven't found an answer yet.

I am one TPU short of an exchange I want. I can't combine because I'm using Wyndham generic deposits which are not combinable.

So I am wondering if there is a way I can buy one TPU, either from RCI or another RCI member.

Thanks in advance,
Susan

That's an excellent question. I hope you get an answer. Seems like if it is allowed in RCI points, they would have a way to do that in "points light" as well.

There was some discussion about this in the past, hoping that RCI would eventually establish the ability to purchase (or rent) TPUs, like they do RCI Points. I'm not aware that they've done this.

If they are Wyn generics, "buying a point" still won't help those........

keep on one on those exchanges, they may drop a point or two and you can snag them.......

Do you have the wyn generics set up as a on -going search? I have done that and if the week hangs around for a while, they magically match.

That would be my suggestion too. Place a search. Exchange TPU values fluctuate more often than you might think---I've been considering an exchange that has dropped by more than 10% over the past few weeks.

If the week you are hoping for drops, and no one else is in line in front of you at the new trade power level, it will match to your search.

Excellent suggestion. My sister wanted Kauai for February, and it was more TPU's than she had. She was so disappointed, so I entered an ongoing search in my account. I matched two days ago for the week she wanted, and it was only 21 TPU's. It was 29 TPU's before. She also entered an ongoing search shortly after I did. I let it go, and it matched to her ongoing search this morning at 19 TPU's. She is very happy.

Gaming the system is pretty fun.

Something you can also do for DVC is enter ongoing searches with low points and check the box that says you will take something at the last minute. A friend of mine got a 1 bedroom for 12/11 one week ago, and it was only 14 TPU's. She used a 15 TPU to get it. Luckily, she is within driving range of Disney.
