Can Hilton deeded points w/hgvmax be used to book Diamond properties beyond 6 months out if you also have diamond trust points?

I was told that Hilton deeded points cannot be used beyond 6 months to book Diamond properties through HGVMax, even if you buy the trust points, as only the trust points can be used to book Diamond beyond the HGVMax 6 month window.

Makes sense, the trust points (HVC) are a separate account from deeded (HGVC) points. Max is just an exchange, it doesn't combine the accounts.

OP was told correctly. Easily verified by reading through the club rules. You can combine points within 6 months by calling customer service, though.

Does anyone know what happens to the combined points reservations should the reservation be canceled> 61 days? I would assume that they would go back to their respective buckets.
