I've got a request in with II for a DVC resort on 11/2 to go along with our check in at BWV on 11/9. I will be surprised if this comes through since it is the last week of the Food and Wine Festival.

II has called to see if I would be interested in any off site resorts. One they mentioned is Calypso Cay. If it's the one I'm thinking of it's a good location and looks nice but I can't find any reviews on it. Has anyone stayed there?

I have stayed at most of the resorts in Orlando area and Marriotts Cypress Harbour and Hilton's SeaWorld have been my favorites other than DVC but I thought I might try something different.

I wouldn't give up on this yet, especially if you're only looking for a 1BR. A 2BR might be tougher to get. Even though it's the last week of F&W otherwise it's not a really high demand week.

It's nice enough, but not in the same category as Marriott, Hilton, or DVC imo. It shares swimming pools with 2 hotels (I think one is a Country Inn, but can't remember what the other is.)

Anyway, the main reason for my post is to mention the 1-br's at this resort. They have 2 types: the full size 1-br, and the smaller 1-br. While the smaller 1-br is great if you are expecting a studio, it is a big disappointment if you are expecting a full size 1-br. I would estimate the size as maybe 60-70% the size of a full size 1-br. However, unlike many resorts that offer the smaller 1-br, this resorts small 1-br's do have a nice screened balcony.

Thanks for the replies. Looks like I would be better off passing on Calypso Cay. When I originally looked on line there was a 2BR for 11/2, now there is just a 1 BR.
