Has anyone been here since the Hyatt project started? Will the Hyatt block the entire beach area?

Is this resort nice? are the 2 bedroom units 2 floors? its says "townhouse" and I see stairs inside the unit on the website.

Is there much to do in this area?

I have owned at Calini since 1985. All the units are 2 BR and all on one floor, NOT townhouse style. The picture may have been from a 1st floor unit that has winding stairs from the lanai to the gounnds.

We have just arrived at our Siesta Key condo home (on the south end of island) and have seen the construction now going on at the Hyatt. The views from units numbered -06, -05, and somewhat -04 are certainly affected. Views to the north (-03, -02, -01 units) are are still OK.

Lots to do here, walk to restaurants, shops, small drug store, 7Eleven. Bike paths throughout the island. Lots of shopping, excellent beach walking and swimming, and kayaking. Also visit Mote Marine, flea markets, malls, sporting events (sping training baseball, and in Tampa is pro football, baseball, hockey).

We love this area (and retired here 3 years ago), and obviously love Calini. We still own 3 weeks there that we use to trade.
