Cabo was cool in January 2 yrs. ago

We spent 2 weeks there 2 yrs. ago and needed long pants and a warm jacket in the evenings. We hardly got in the pool at all. It was also windy as I recall. It is much warmer in Cancun in early January. We had a great time in Cabo anyway. DonnaD

The whales should be there too. It will be cool. maybe high 70's in the day and sweatshirt weather in the evenings. We have been in the pools in January before because they were heated at our resorts but I was in the ocean for a few minutes it was cold.

I do not know but I was in Cancun area last Jan. and it was downright cool and windy for the whole two weeks we were there. Never went in water nor pool, too cold. Now I guess I should point out that last year for all of Mexico was the coldest in over 10 years. So who knows....

I was there in January a couple of years ago. The daytime temperatures were in the high 70s - GREAT, as I am a "cold weather" person. Spent much time lounging around the pool, etc. I wasn't out much at night, but I think jeans and a fleece vest would have been perfectly comfortable.

We like mid to late January in Cabo. Sometimes it does gets into the low 60s and all the locals are wearing winter coats but low 60s with sunshine is better than 10 in the fog.

We always rent a car at the airport.

Cold in Cabo in the morning, Jan and Feb.

Yes I agree with everyone. I was in Cabo Last Feb and we froze in the early morning 6am to 9am playing golf. It warms up to the 70s in the afternoon. The locals that worked at the Golf course all had winter coats and hats and winter gloves. Im going back this year with warm sweaters and wind breakers and winter golf gloves to handle the morning chill. Have fun, Stay warm!;) ;)

We went once for MLK week and we were kind of bummed that the weather was about the same as San Diego where we live. Mostly grey skies and temps between 65 and 69 that particular week. Luckily, we were staying at Playa Grande and they have a nice large jacuzzi, so we spent lots of time in there sipping our blended drinks with all the rest of the resort guests. The pools were all too cold for our taste, and actually the resort was pretty quiet.

There was no rain until the end of our week, so we did lots of walking into town, along the beach, etc. We had rented a car and drove to Todos Santos for a day, and looked at all the beautiful art galleries there. Drive during the day so you can see the potholes and speedbumps ahead. We also took daytrips to San Jose, a glass factory, a day at Medano Beach, and even did some timeshare tours to PB Sunset Beach & the Westin Regina (which we would NEVER do if the weather was nice!). Also, since you will be there in January during whale watching season, you'll want to make a trip to the Whale Watcher's bar at the Finnistera (timeshare resort next to Playa Grande). You can have drinks and watch the whales go by. Amazing views from that bar!

Still, we still had a nice, relaxing vacation, although the weather was not as warm as we would have liked, and there was not much sun. We had been during President's week the year before, and it was definately sunnier, warmer and more to our liking. But we had gotten bumped, and we wanted to use our free airlines tickets before they expired, so we had to go in January. But now we understand that you need to head much further south if you are looking for sunny skies and 80-degree weather in January.

Definately take some long pants, jackets, and clothes you can layer, as needed.

Don,
I am here in cabo right this minute and the weather is super. Of course it gets dark early and temps drop, but a sweatshirt is plenty to keep you warm. I arrived on Dec. 21 and every day has been beautiful. I nlove to walk along the beach during the morning and even a 7am you reaaly don't need a jacket.
