We will be on a Princess cruise in March that makes a Cabo stop. Looking for a resort that offers a day pass and Princess offers an excursion which looks to be the Casa Dorado resort. Is it walkable from the cruise docks? Just looking for some beach and pool time and a little food and drinks. They provide transportation but we may want to stay a little longer. I’m sure we could Uber back but thought there may be shops or something to see along the route if it’s walkable. There were a couple of other options on resortforaday.com too. Feel free to let me know of any suggestions as well (will also be making stops in Mazatlan and PV). We done a bunch of Caribbean cruises but this will be our first time visiting these.

Thanks.

Mark

Just looking for some beach and pool time and a little food and drinks.
Using the map above, you could just walk to the beach, which is a public beach, without paying for an excursion. There are a couple of lively places to eat/drink right on the beach--The Office and The Mango Deck. There are lots bars, restaurants, & shops along the marina including an air-conditioned mall https://www.loscabosguide.com/puerto-paraiso-plaza/

Depending on what week in March, Medano Beach could be a little crazy with the spring break crowd, and the beach in front of Casa Dorada is right in the center of all the action. If you don't care about swimming in a pool or having a day pass at a resort, I'd recommend walking around the marina, or taking a water taxi over to Medano Beach - you'll see it from your ship. Once you're at the beach, choose some lounge chairs under a palapa to set up camp, and you can order food and drinks and stay there all day. If you walk over to the beach, I'd highly recommend taking a water taxi back, and maybe ask them to take you out to see the arch.

Just a reminder: Do not leave valuables left unattended at the beach or poolside at a resort! My kids just had their backpack stolen (iPhone, wallet, etc.) at a Marriott resort in Puerto Rico, while they were in the pool with their kids.

Thank you all for your advice. There is no real need for us to have a day pass. I just thought it would be an easy way to take the thinking out of things. In fact, of all the cruises we’ve been on, we have never taken a cruise excursion, rather just winged things at each port (and this was while traveling with our daughters). Just my wife & I this time, so I guess as I am getting older I’m looking for the easy way out ! I like the water taxi idea and seeing the arch. Could also do without the pool. We only plan to be off the ship about 5 hours or so. I‘m thinking we will skip the day pass. We will be there the second week of March, so I’d expect some craziness.

For a drop dead gorgeous view of your ship out in the bay, take the elevator up to Baja Brewery in Cabo Villas Resort (on Medano Beach) and enjoy a beer on the rooftop!

So if I understand this correctly, if you are staying at the Casa Dorado resort, then you might have an invasion of cruise ship passengers competing for lounge chairs and the pool? That does not sound like a good thing for guests at the resort.

I'm sure the number of day passes is limited, but I also imagine it could get crowded. I hate not being able to find a lounge chair - those early morning chair hogs are my nemeses on vacation!

You can see the arch easily from the shore. The water taxis out there do get kind of rough and sometimes it's hard to get yourself off the little
boat and also hard to get back on. You could take a little tour in one of the boats out to the arch and see it up close. There are usually a lot of
sealions lounging on the rocks out there. Personally, I'd enjoy that more than trying to get off the boat and wait around for the boat to come
back and get you. You'll also get a good view of the arch from your ship as you depart.
