When buying a timeshare on resale market, how much will closing costs be?

It can vary. Outside of DIY, expect to spend between $300 and $750. Certain locations like Hawaii and the Caribbean can be more expensive. Bahamas and USVI can extend into $1000-$3000 for closing.

Many people here recommend an outfit called LT Transfers. Perhaps one of the cheapest options out there for a timeshare closing.

Also some resorts have hefty “transfer fees.” (Really junk fees). Wyndham is $399 per contract. Marriott is I think $3 per point minimum $3000 if buying resale points.

We are currently closing on a week through Redweek, Maui resort. Total closing costs with title insurance: $1,500. The resort transfer fee is only $25.

They will vary by resort. Be sure to find out all the costs involved so you aren't surprised by a stray fee. The seller may not even know them all, so do your due diligence.

Transfer fees also are negotiable between you and the seller.

For some resorts, the seller should be happy to pay them all. For others, you might split them.

It really comes down to the resort and how fast you want to get the deal done.

In the timeshare resale market you usually "pay" for your "free" or inexpensive timeshare when it comes time to sell it.

this right here.

Think hard about how you will dispose of your TS in the future when you look at these "free" give aways. There is a reason some listings are so "attractive".
