Hi Everyone,
I am posting for a friend who is thinking of buying at Ocean Oak. They went to a HGVC presentation this week while staying in Myrtle Beach and were offered a week each year at the above resort for $30K! Can anyone give their opinion on this purchase please? I encouraged them to consider buying on the secondary market and even a different resort with lower M-fees. They own a week through RCI at another resort and enjoy vacationing. They aren't sure of the entire HGVC system and my knowledge is probably not as indepth as some other people on this board. Thanks for any advice, thoughts, etc.

Best to have you (or them) read here before making any decisions. All of the info is already here.

Basic message - don't let them buy direct. Period.

The rest is all here to be found at their leisure after they *don't* buy direct.

Cheers,

Rescind! If they haven’t already rescinded the clock is ticking for their window of opportunity and when that time runs out they would have flushed $20,000 down the toilet. Just as important as being a bad deal, they should rescind because “they aren’t sure of the entire HGVC system”.
