There are some people who really want HGVC elite status and to get elite you must buy direct from HGVC. Most all of us know that buying direct from HGVC is not a good value but, there has been some talk about buying direct from HIGVC (Hilton International). These sales will count toward your qualifing for HGVC elite status.

For $14K USD you can buy from HIGVC a 8400 pt platinum 3 bd in Scotland.
Here is the HIGVC website with the offers HIGVC

(Edited to clarify; Sales count toward qualifing not enough to qualify alone.)

To qualify for elite, you still need a unit in HGVC Orlando, Miami, Las Vegas and Hawaii. Hilton Coylumbridge sale a lot cheaper than Craigendarrouch in term of price and maintenance fees. You can buy resale from HIGVC (a lot more cheaper than developer unit) and qualify for elite. If you don't care about elite and you can get a platinum 2 bdrm for $7000.00 (7000 HGVC points).

Are you saying you don't have to buy 14,000 points in Scotland to qualify for elite status. You would get elite with this one purchase of 8400 points?

1 of the properties purchased must be a full priced developer purchase at a US Hilton Built property. Resales don't count.

Seth is correct. One of the properties must be in the US. I have bought 4 units from HIGVC and do not qualify

7000 pts. for $7000 is a great deal. What are the MF's? I assume this is considered an affiliate and requires a seperate HGVC account. Is this correct? Are there any risks in purchasing this type of unit just to increase the number of points you own? Any chance of Hilton ever ending their affiliation with these locations?

2006 Maintenance fees is : 314.25lb == approx $US 600. You will have a separate HGVC account but you can combine the points to use for reservation. There is VERY little risk of ending the affiliation since HIGVC is selling the units. They are expanding to Portugal.

I don't expect them to end their affiliation, however, it is always possible. Marriott reps were selling Spicebush, and Swallowtail in Hilton Head as well as a number of others that they disaffiliated. So you are taking a risk, however, if they remain affiliates, you are getting a great deal. It is more difficult borrowing from future years as it is a fixed week and unit and it must be in your account before you can cancel it and book your points.
