From a local timeshare sales source, I found opportunity of owning at Tahoe area for these two resort:

Club tahoe $2000 out of pocket
week 43 (last week of Oct.)
MTF: 430
2bdrm sleep 6

Tahoe Chaparral $1000 out of pocket
Week 51 (christmas week)
MTF: 450
2bdrm sleep 6

I found some review on tahoe Chaparral but not a lot. It is on a steep hill and no onsite amenities, beach etc. More reviews on club tahoe. Seems to be a little better in terms amenities with Sauna etc. but the facility is more dated.

Which one is a better purchase? May I get some help in their trading power? Can the christmas week one get me into a holiday week in a very nice resort at a sort after location?

Thanks a lot!

I don't know much about these two resorts. If you ask about them on the Western Board, (you wouldn't want to duplicate this post but ask about the resorts specifically) I bet you would get a good response. However, in regards to Christmas vs October I would think Christmas would be more desirable since October weather is sort of a crap shoot. Also, if you become a member of TUG you can read the timeshare reviews which could give you more info.

Try using TripAdvisor forum and go to Lake Tahoe Forum for information on everything in Lake Tahoe!

We own two units in Lake Tahoe (Ridge Tahoe) so I use TripAdvisor many times for local info!

First of all, are you buying this for an exchanger or to use? Tahoe has a lot of timeshares and I wouldn't buy either of these to use, or as a hot exchanger, although the Christmas week definitely has the edge there. Oct. is off-season in Tahoe. Unless you specifically want a certain season in Tahoe, I'd buy a floating week, or a summer or ski season week.

On the TUG Review pages, Club Tahoe is rated 7.09 out of 10 by Tuggers (I'd consider that a C) and Tahoe Chaparral is rated 5.03 out of 10 (I'd consider that a D.) I bought our mid-level Tahoe TS for less than $200 on ebay, so I think you can do better on the quality and the price too - These are not high demand resorts. Tahoe TS on ebay.

If you join TUG you can access the members only review pages and read the reviews for Tahoe properties.

Good luck!
